You Are Not Alone

At Contentment Social Services in Edmonton, Alberta, we uphold the adage that “if you feed a person fish, he/she will eat for today. But, if you teach the person to fish, he/she will eat forever.”

The goal is to provide tools that will lift those who are the periphery of communal life to sustainability. There are social services programs that feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, provide free clothes, assist single mothers. Not to diminish any of those, but none are prevention, empowerment, or long-term solutions.
